Millionaire Mountain delivered another postseason thriller and once again Wilkes-Barre walked away celebrating. Facing elimination late and trailing entering the seventh inning, the Wolfpack fought back before Nathan Fritz delivered the decisive blow in the ninth, sending Wilkes-Barre to a second straight District 2-4 Class 6A championship appearance with a dramatic 5-2 victory over top-seeded Williamsport.

Montrose broke things open in a hurry Friday afternoon. After building a lead early, the Meteors unleashed a six-run third inning and never looked back, punching their ticket to the District 2 Class 2A championship game with an 11-1 semifinal victory over Elk Lake.

Northwest secured the District 4 PIAA AA District Championship in a hard-fought contest against Wyalusing, with strong pitching proving to be the difference. With that win, the Northwest Lady Rangers improve on their already perfect record, making them 21-0 so far on the season.

Last season’s District 2 championship matchup became this year’s semifinal rematch and once again, Pittston Area found a way. After briefly surrendering the lead in the middle innings, the Patriots responded with clutch swings, steady pitching from Elijah Barr, and a balanced offensive attack to pull away from Abington Heights, 6-2, and move one step closer to another district crown.

Wyoming Seminary College Prep staged a dramatic seventh-inning rally to defeat Holy Redeemer 6-3 in the D2 AA Semifinal. Freshman Nieko Ravaioli delivered a key double, igniting the five-run comeback.

Benton secured a 6-4 victory over Cowanesque Valley in a neutral conference tournament baseball game on Friday. Benton, the District 4 1A Champion, overcame a four-error outing to outhit their opponents and clinch the win.
