A Program-Wide Triumph: Riverside Boys and Girls Golf Tame Lackawanna Trail

Riverside defeated Lackawanna Trail 165 to 204 in a Lackawanna League boys golf match on August 26, 2026, at Pine Hills Golf Course. Playing on a par 35 course where teams counted their best four scores out of six players, Jake O'Brien earned match medalist honors for Riverside with a round of 35. O'Brien recorded birdies on the fourth, seventh, and eighth holes. Pat Lavelle and Evan Slocum each posted scores of 43 for Riverside, while Bill Shea recorded a 44. Alex Kimble added a 45, Grayson Soltys shot a 48, Riley Odzana finished with a 50, and Billy Sandly posted a 56. Mac Filipek led Lackawanna Trail with a score of 48. William Evans, Jimmy Phillips, and Josh Fowler each recorded rounds of 52 for Lackawanna Trail, followed by John Kearney with a 54, Jake Griggs with a 55, Hayden Bluhm with a 56, and Braden Staffaroni with a 57.
In Lackawanna League girls golf competition on August 27, 2026, Riverside earned a 127 to 144 victory over Lackawanna Trail at Pine Hills Back Nine. The match featured a par 35 layout with teams counting their top three individual scores out of five competitors. Frankie Wincovitch claimed match medalist honors for Riverside by shooting a 41, which included a birdie on the 18th hole. Emma Bisignani and Raigan Monahan each carded rounds of 43 to round out Riverside's team total. Brea Gaughan recorded a 54 and Sophia Koval finished with a 62 for Riverside. Lauren Dewey paced Lackawanna Trail with a team-low score of 45. Payton Laytos shot a 48, Brynn Kelly carded a 51, Kacie Antolick posted a 54, Aubree Davis recorded a 58, and alternate Jillian Choplosky finished with a 59.
