District XI’s heavyweights aren’t slowing down! Parkland, Easton, Southern Lehigh, Northwestern, NDGP, and Schuylkill Haven all remain perfect through seven weeks. But with rivalry matchups looming and playoff pushes heating up, the pressure is rising fast. Week 8 is shaping up to be the most defining yet.
Lock Haven University delivered a dominant performance on Saturday afternoon, defeating Bloomsburg University 38–17 in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division matchup at Redman Stadium. The win marks the third consecutive triumph for the Bald Eagles over their in-state rivals and their first road victory of the season.
Back-to-back five-TD games. Nearly 600 yards rushing in two weeks. Holy Cross senior Kevin Vincent has erupted as the Crusaders’ go-to playmaker, answering every challenge with grit, speed, and purpose. A 4.0+ student, league-champion jumper, and community leader, Vincent’s rise at running back feels like destiny, echoing the path of his late uncle, Bishop O’Hara legend Matt Caputo. A true Crusader on and off the field, Kevin Vincent is this week’s Wired Athlete of the Week.
Just when we thought Week 4 had flipped the script, Week 5 rewrote the entire playbook. In true District IV fashion, what looked like a return to order has instead given way to more volatility. Some teams solidified their status, others crumbled under pressure, and a few dark horses have suddenly become impossible to ignore. Comparing Week 4 to Week 5, it’s clear: the only constant in this season is change.
Berwick holds on to the top spot in the District 2 Small School Top 10, edging out Wyoming Area by just two points. Lackawanna Trail climbs into third, Scranton Prep surges into the top five, and Mid Valley makes one of the week’s biggest gains as the middle of the rankings tighten up.
