The 2025 WNEP Super 16 Player of the Year North Poconos standout Cole West has announced his commitment to Cornell University, earning the opportunity to continue both his academic and athletic careers at the NCAA Division I level in the Ivy League.

West, one of the Trojans’ most versatile athletes, has made an impact on both sides of the football. As a wide receiver and defensive back, he has established himself as one of the area’s premier playmakers, using his athleticism, football IQ, and leadership to help North Pocono compete at a high level.

His commitment to Cornell is the culmination of years of hard work, dedication, and consistent performance on the field and in the classroom. The Ivy League school is known for its rigorous academic standards, making the opportunity especially meaningful for student-athletes who excel both academically and athletically.

Throughout his high school career, West has demonstrated the ability to make game-changing plays. Whether hauling in key receptions on offense or creating turnovers in the secondary, he has become a cornerstone of the Trojans’ success.

Choosing Cornell gives West the chance to compete in one of the nation’s most respected conferences while earning a degree from a world-renowned institution. His commitment also highlights the growing reputation of North Pocono’s football program for developing student-athletes capable of succeeding at the collegiate level.

As he prepares for his final high school season, West will look to build on an already impressive résumé while helping lead the Trojans toward another successful campaign. With his college decision now behind him, he can focus on finishing his North Pocono career on a high note before beginning the next chapter in Ithaca, New York.

For North Pocono, West’s commitment is another source of pride and a testament to the dedication, perseverance, and excellence that continue to define the Trojans’ athletic program.
