For six innings, every pitch felt enormous. Every baserunner felt like the one that could decide it. In a District 2 Class 3A championship atmosphere worthy of the stage at Wilkes University, Mid Valley and Lake-Lehman traded zeros in a tense pitchers’ duel before the Spartanettes finally broke through in the seventh to continue a growing dynasty.

Valley View Completes Historic Eight-Day Championship Double as Unified Athletes Leave Everything on the Track and Field

May 16, 2026 Brad Loff

Down near the tracks edge, the noise from the infield was constant. There was no rail to separate the action, just the boundary line where passionate coaches stood screaming out split times, urging their athletes to find another gear. But the real story of the day unfolded right at the finish line. Looking at those frozen expressions, there was no doubt about it: every single competitor left a piece of themselves on that track.
