Delaware Valley Warriors

Delaware Valley beat Northampton 7-5 in a tight lacrosse quarterfinal. Colin McGarvey (2G, 1A) and Riley Smith (13 saves) led DV to the DII AAA semifinals vs. Parkland.

Warriors crushed Valley View 11-1 on Senior Night. Delaware Valley exploded for 7 runs in the 3rd, with Liam Onofry going 4-for-4 to lead the offense.

Senior night energy and a first-inning offensive explosion made for a pretty memorable Friday evening at North Pocono. Before the crowd could even settle in, the Lady Trojans were already piling up runs on the way to a dominant 13-1 win over Delaware Valley. With seniors Olivia Charles, Amelia Bell, and Paige Dymek honored before first pitch, North Pocono delivered the kind of performance that matched the occasion.

The Warriors piled up 31 runs and 26 hits across two games, sweeping Scranton Prep with dominant 14-4 and 17-2 victories in a statement doubleheader performance.

Holy Redeemer edged Delaware Valley 6-4 in a defensive battle. Allie Desciak led Holy Redeemer with 3 goals and 2 assists, earning Player of the Game honors.

Scranton Prep topped Delaware Valley 8-7 in OT. James Stallman (10 saves) was Player of the Game. Mackey Lynett (SP) and Tyler Husejnovic (DV) each scored hat tricks.

For a few innings, this one had the feel of a close battle. Then West Scranton found its rhythm, strung together big innings, and turned the game into a convincing 12-2 win Tuesday afternoon.

Abington Heights defeats Delaware Valley 10-6, fueled by a dominant 4th quarter. Gavin Lindsay led the AH offense; Riley Smith’s 16 saves for DV were not enough.

Delaware Valley edged Crestwood 6-5 in a thrilling lacrosse match. Hunsejnoivc, McGarvey, Myers netted two goals each for DV. Schlude led Crestwood with 3 scores.

The exclamation point came from Javian Porter. Porter rose above the defense for a powerful one-handed dunk that brought the Parkland crowd to its feet, effectively putting the game out of reach. Moments later, he added another dunk to seal the victory.

DELAWARE VALLEY — In one of the most dramatic games of the opening round of the PIAA Class 6A state playoffs, Delaware Valley battled past Abington Ghosts in overtime, securing a thrilling 56–54 victory Saturday night.

NEPA Elite Volleyball Club continued to make a statement across the Northeast this weekend at the Irish Madness Invitational at Harrah’s in Atlantic City. Competing against 30+ teams from multiple states, NEPA Elite teams battled through high-level competition with 16U Wildfire and 17U Storm both finishing an impressive 4th place overall. Athletes representing over 28 schools across District 2, District 4, and District 11 came together to compete as one, proving that NEPA Elite continues to grow as one of the region’s most competitive and respected volleyball programs

Hazelton Area's Evelyn Sheer AKA "The Pink Nightmare", the 1st seed, started off strong with a 27 second pin in the semifinals which advanced her to the finals. Crestwood's Samara Bailey, the 2nd seed and last year's runner-up, had also picked up a quick 24 second pin to advance her to the finals. This finals match was crazy with multiple takedowns and reversals.

WILKES-BARRE — Championship games are supposed to test everything — poise, toughness, execution, and heart.

When the nets start snapping early and often, confidence follows. And on this night at Scranton High, the Lady Knights turned a semifinal into a shooting clinic, raining threes and sending a clear message: they’re not done yet.
