In Schuylkill County, few names carry the weight that Nativity BVM senior Trey Keating does. A record-setting scorer on the basketball court, a key contributor in baseball, and now a leader on a 15-1 golf team, Keating’s impact stretches far beyond athletics. He’s a Distinguished Honor student, Student Body President, and a role model who credits his family, coaches, and community for shaping his journey. Humble yet relentless, Trey isn’t chasing attention, he’s chasing excellence, and Nativity BVM is stronger for it.

The fairways of Pine Hills turned green Thursday afternoon, not just for golf, but for a greater cause. Scranton golfers joined forces with the John Malvizzi Foundation to promote mental health awareness, wearing ribbons and carrying towels with messages like “You Matter” and “Be Kind to Your Mind.” While Riverside claimed the match victory, the evening’s true impact came from the message that student well-being extends far beyond the scorecard.
The NEPA Invitational has quickly grown into more than just a golf tournament, it’s become a movement of community pride and philanthropy. Founded by PGA Tour professional and Dupont native Brandon Matthews, the event blends world-class golf with a mission to support children and families across Northeastern Pennsylvania. From the Lawler Scholarship honoring a local legend, to vital partnerships with agencies like the Children’s Advocacy Center, Boys & Girls Club, Ronald McDonald House, and MyCIL, the Invitational proves that every drive, putt, and swing can ripple far beyond the fairways.
