The 2025 Hanover Hawkeye Classic delivered a full slate of grit, stamina, and statement victories on Sunday as youth wrestlers from across the region hit the mats at Hanover Area High School. Hosted by Pocono Mountain Youth Wrestling and PA Youth Wrestling, the preseason showcase offered a first look at rising talent and more than a few matches that had the gym rocking from whistle to fall.

“Limits exist only in the mind.” For Matt Marcinek, these aren’t just words—they’re a way of life. Born with cerebral palsy, Matt could’ve let the world define him by his condition. Instead, he forged a path no one saw coming. Through sweat, science, and sheer will, he became a respected grappling coach, a mental performance expert, and the founder of No Limits Grappling Academy—Scranton’s powerhouse of No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu. His journey isn’t just about martial arts. It’s about refusing to be boxed in. About transforming pain into purpose. About proving that greatness isn’t reserved for the lucky or the able-bodied—it’s earned by those who keep showing up, even when it’s hard. In every class he teaches, every student he guides, and every story of struggle he helps rewrite, Matt’s message rings loud and clear: You are not your limitations. You are your mindset.

The vision for MECCA Sports Inc. is deeply rooted in the Retherford family\'s own experience in the world of athletics. Al and Sarah, proud parents of three children who each competed or will complete, at the Division I level in various sports, understand the challenges that families face when guiding their kids toward success. As Sarah shared, “Our mission is for each athlete to achieve their greatest potential—not just as an athlete, but as a person.” Al added, “We’ve been through the journey ourselves, and we know the path. Our goal is to help other parents and athletes find their way through it, at the right time.”
