OLD FORGE — A decisive fourth-quarter surge and a barrage of three-pointers propelled Old Forge to a 51–41 victory over Lakeland on Monday night in a Division III girls’ basketball matchup.

Central Columbia showcased a complete team performance, operating like a well-oiled machine on offense and defense throughout the night. Their ability to work together, apply constant pressure, and convert turnovers into points made the difference in a decisive win over the Lady Rangers.

That confidence was on full display on December 28th against Nanticoke, when Walsh reached a milestone few high school players ever achieve: 1,000 career points. The achievement was another highlight in an already impressive résumé that includes Miss 570 Runner-Up (10th grade), First Team All-Conference (9th and 10th grade), and WVC MVP honors as a sophomore.

Tunkhannock edged Wyoming Area 37 to 35 in a tightly contested girls basketball game that came down to the final seconds, using a late go ahead basket and a clutch free throw to hold off a strong Wyoming Area push.

What started as a back-and-forth opening quarter turned quickly once Abigail Gelinger caught fire. The Blue Ridge junior poured in 17 second-quarter points to flip the game on its head, sparking a decisive run that put the Lady Raiders firmly in control. Gelinger’s scoring surge fueled a complete road performance and showcased why she’s becoming one of the most dangerous offensive weapons in the division.

Addison Kilmer didn’t just lead the way, she took over. The Mountain View senior delivered one of the most dominant performances of the District 2 season, erupting for 45 points while controlling the paint and tempo from start to finish. With Mountain View locking in defensively after halftime, Kilmer’s all-around brilliance powered a convincing home win and set the tone for the Lady Eagles’ night.
