Holy Redeemer’s Pacelli Dominates Junior High Boys Race at Commissioner’s Invite

Heat was no match for Holy Redeemer’s Frank Pacelli, who took control early and never looked back in the Junior High Boys race at the Commissioner’s Invitational. Pacelli crossed the line in 9:16, a full 26 seconds ahead of Abington’s Jack Stopper. While Pacelli ran away with the individual crown, Stopper’s runner-up finish helped power Abington Heights to the team title, placing five runners in the top 14. Danville secured second place behind strong runs from Cade Mulcahy and Sam Didomenico, with Riverside rounding out the top three thanks to a third-place finish by Connor Moore.

Rain poured throughout the Varsity Boys race at the Lackawanna County Commissioner’s Meet, but that didn’t slow Elk Lake’s star duo. Kendel Jones and Cody Adams went one-two with Parker Upright in fourth, yet Riverside’s depth proved too much to overcome. Led by Mikey Schimelfenig’s clutch third-place finish and four more inside the top 20, the Vikings claimed the team title with 51 points. Elk Lake settled for second with 61, just edging Wallenpaupack by a single point, as the Buckhorns placed eight runners in the top 25. The battle of front-runners versus depth highlighted District 2’s small school strength, promising a thrilling season ahead.
