District IV may have its favorites, but in this wild 2025 season, nothing is guaranteed once the lights come on Friday night.

If Week 1 served as a wake-up call, Week 2 shook the very foundation of the District IV football landscape. While some teams solidified their places, others saw their early momentum derailed—and new contenders have stormed into the spotlight.

As the dust settles on Week 1 of the high school football season, the District IV landscape has already seen its share of surprises, shakeups, and statement wins. The preseason rankings gave us a glimpse of potential, but now that the pads are popping and the games are official, it's clear some teams came out swinging—while others have ground to make up.

Mifflinburg struck first in the second inning, as Kaiden Kmett crossed the plate to give the Wildcats a 1-0 lead. But that would be the only offense Mifflinburg could muster against Warrior Run ace Landon Polcyn, who delivered a dominant performance on the mound. Polcyn went the distance, pitching all seven innings while striking out 10 and allowing just two hits to secure the win for the Defenders.
