DELAWARE VALLEY — In one of the most dramatic games of the opening round of the PIAA Class 6A state playoffs, Delaware Valley battled past Abington Ghosts in overtime, securing a thrilling 56–54 victory Saturday night.

NEPA Elite Volleyball Club continued to make a statement across the Northeast this weekend at the Irish Madness Invitational at Harrah’s in Atlantic City. Competing against 30+ teams from multiple states, NEPA Elite teams battled through high-level competition with 16U Wildfire and 17U Storm both finishing an impressive 4th place overall. Athletes representing over 28 schools across District 2, District 4, and District 11 came together to compete as one, proving that NEPA Elite continues to grow as one of the region’s most competitive and respected volleyball programs

Hazelton Area's Evelyn Sheer AKA "The Pink Nightmare", the 1st seed, started off strong with a 27 second pin in the semifinals which advanced her to the finals. Crestwood's Samara Bailey, the 2nd seed and last year's runner-up, had also picked up a quick 24 second pin to advance her to the finals. This finals match was crazy with multiple takedowns and reversals.

Valley View set the tone from the opening tip and never looked back Friday night, using stifling defense and balanced scoring to secure a 55 to 28 Division I victory over Delaware Valley. Cora Castellani led all scorers with 21 points as the Cougars controlled the game in all four quarters.

The Warriors girls volleyball team wrapped up another standout season with a hard-fought loss to Emmaus High School in the first round of the state playoffs on Nov. 4, falling in three sets (25-22, 25-16, 25-13). Despite the setback, the Warriors capped their campaign with an impressive 15-5 record and their eighth straight district championship. Several players etched their names into the program’s record books, including Makayley Hughes (769 assists), Brianna Waldron (43 blocks), and Kate Prior (381 digs). With five seniors graduating, head coach Karley May reflected proudly on the group’s lasting impact, calling it “the end of an era.”
