On December 4th Delaware Valley High School hosts its 3rd annual law enforcement versus staff basketball game with all proceeds going to help local children in need. Admission is a toy or a five dollar donation. Lucas and his team will be calling the game live so whether you plan to tune in or stop by in person this is a great chance to support a meaningful community event.

The Warriors girls volleyball team wrapped up another standout season with a hard-fought loss to Emmaus High School in the first round of the state playoffs on Nov. 4, falling in three sets (25-22, 25-16, 25-13). Despite the setback, the Warriors capped their campaign with an impressive 15-5 record and their eighth straight district championship. Several players etched their names into the program’s record books, including Makayley Hughes (769 assists), Brianna Waldron (43 blocks), and Kate Prior (381 digs). With five seniors graduating, head coach Karley May reflected proudly on the group’s lasting impact, calling it “the end of an era.”

The state’s biggest stage brought out the best in District 2’s top girls cross country teams and runners. Abington Heights senior Anna Pucilowski blazed her way to an 18th-place state medal, while Crestwood’s Katie Kozich and Delaware Valley’s Grace Holderith followed close behind with top-25 finishes. Elk Lake’s young core impressed in “Single A,” finishing just 41 points out of first with standout sophomore Kendyl Weisgold earning a 9th-place medal. Montrose, Wallenpaupack, and Valley View added strong team efforts in a day that showcased the depth, talent, and future promise of girls distance running across Northeast Pennsylvania.

Valley View capped its Senior Night with a 2-1 win over Delaware Valley at John Henzes Veterans Memorial Stadium. Jason Nagy opened the scoring for the Warriors on a first-half penalty kick before Jagger Roe headed in a cross from Ethan Namlick to tie it. Braden Loff then delivered the game-winner in the second half with a perfectly placed shot off the inside of the left post, completing the Cougars’ season sweep.

Delaware Valley’s balanced attack and relentless defense proved too much for Valley View Friday night, as the Warriors rolled to a 41-0 win in front of their home crowd. Quarterback Colin McGarvey threw for 250 yards and four touchdowns, while Valley View struggled to establish rhythm offensively, limited to just 131 total yards.

WarriorFest delivered a week of spirit and tradition at Delaware Valley, capped off by senior Mike Iuzzolino’s two rushing scores and 98-yard kickoff return, plus a 53-yard burst from Devin Estevez, as the Warriors defended the Black and Blue Jug with a 28–14 win over Abington Heights. DV (2–4) will host Long Island Lutheran next week, while the Comets (4–2) turn their attention to Scranton Prep.

Back under the lights after an ACL injury in last year’s playoffs, Will McPartland delivered an unforgettable return, accounting for seven total touchdowns as Scranton Prep erased a huge deficit to edge Delaware Valley 49-44.

It was more than a press event. It was a reunion, a farewell, a coming-of-age story all in one. Hosted by longtime broadcaster Tony Sibila and Honesdale’s new head coach George Howanitz, Media Day was filled with stories from players on the cusp of adulthood and from coaches whose roots run deep in Northeastern Pennsylvania’s football soil. “It’s like a family reunion,” Howanitz said. “There’s history in every name on the roster.”

Delaware Valley head coach Keith Olsommer, the architect behind one of NEPA’s most dominant football programs, will be recognized as the Scranton Lions Club Man of the Year during halftime of the 2025 Dream Game on July 23 at John Henzes Stadium.
