For six innings, Crestwood looked ready to leave PNC Field with a statement win. Then Dallas flipped the entire game upside down in one explosive inning, capped by a grand slam that sent the Mountaineers dugout into a frenzy.

Trailing 6-5 entering the seventh, Dallas erupted for six runs in the final frame to rally past Crestwood 11-6 in a wild Friday night battle at PNC Field.

The biggest swing of the night belonged to Brady Youngblood.

With the bases loaded and momentum hanging in the balance, Youngblood crushed a grand slam to left field, blowing the game open and putting an exclamation point on Dallas’ comeback effort. The slugger finished with five RBIs on the night in a clutch performance that completely changed the game.

Dallas had to battle back all evening after falling behind early.

Crestwood grabbed momentum in the first inning behind an RBI double from Avery Brace and continued to apply pressure offensively, building a 6-1 lead through four innings.

But the Mountaineers never blinked.

Dallas chipped away before delivering the decisive seventh inning outburst, turning a tight game into a late runaway.

Dominick Zangardi also added another major milestone to the night, surpassing 100 career strikeouts while striking out six over 3.1 innings of work. Nick Bednar helped stabilize things out of the bullpen, tossing 3.2 innings in relief to help Dallas close the door.

Offensively, Youngblood and Zangardi led the charge with two hits apiece while hitting back-to-back in the lineup. Dallas also flashed the leather defensively, turning two double plays in key moments.

Crestwood continued to battle offensively behind multi-hit nights from Jaxson Fedak and Zack Stavish, while Stavish and Brace each drove in three runs. The Comets also worked eight walks and forced Dallas pitchers to grind through nearly every inning.

But once Youngblood connected in the seventh, the energy inside PNC Field shifted instantly.

A six-run comeback inning. A grand slam under the bright lights. And a milestone night for Dallas’ ace.

Friday night baseball at PNC delivered again.
