Wyoming Valley West Soccer Edges Wallenpaupack 2-1

By: Brad Loff | SportzWire | October 22, 2026

Noah Fetko scored twice in a span of less than six minutes in the first half, lifting the Wyoming Valley West Spartans to a 2-1 win over the Wallenpaupack Buckhorns in a nonleague boys soccer match Tuesday in Kingston.

Fetko's go-ahead goal came at the 17:10 mark off an assist from Jake Jaskulka, and he struck again at 22:51 on a feed from Maks Iracki to give the Spartans a 2-1 lead they would not relinquish.

Wallenpaupack had taken an early advantage when Colby Bonagura scored unassisted at the 14:31 mark of the first half. The Buckhorns held that lead for less than three minutes before Fetko's first goal evened the score.

Neither team found the net in the second half, as Wyoming Valley West's defense held firm to preserve the one-goal margin.

The Spartans held edges in several statistical categories, outshooting Wallenpaupack 12-9 and holding a 5-3 advantage in corner kicks.

Sergio Gonzalez made six saves in net for Wyoming Valley West to secure the win, while Josh Katz turned aside six shots for Wallenpaupack in the loss.

All of the scoring came in the first half, with Wyoming Valley West's pair of goals in an 8 minute, 20 second window proving to be the difference in the match.

The win keeps Wyoming Valley West unbeaten at home in Kingston, while Wallenpaupack will look to regroup after falling by a single goal despite generating nine shots of its own.

Fetko's two-goal performance paced all scorers, and both of his goals came via assists, from Jaskulka and Iracki respectively, highlighting a Spartans attack that shared the ball well in the final third during the decisive first-half stretch.
