Wyoming Seminary defeated Wyoming Area by a final score of 2-1 on August 28, 2020, at Klassner.
Wyoming Seminary took an early lead in the first quarter when Emma Ey scored on a reverse shot with 0:11 remaining, assisted by Anna Rolland. Wyoming Area answered in the second quarter when Talia Pizano scored at the 12:19 mark to tie the contest at 1-1.
After a scoreless third quarter, Wyoming Seminary secured the go-ahead score in the fourth quarter. Addison Anderson scored off a rebound at the 13:34 mark following an assist from Emma Ey.
Wyoming Seminary finished the contest with two goals, four shots on goal, four penalty corners, and seven goalkeeper saves. Wyoming Area recorded one goal, eight shots on goal, 17 penalty corners, and two goalkeeper saves.
Wyoming Seminary head field hockey coach Kelsie Sincavage praised her squad's effort in the opener, calling the victory a great way to kick off the season.
