Top-seeded Wyoming Seminary scored early and often in an 11-0 victory over Hanover Area on Tuesday, advancing the Blue Knights to the District 2 Class A field hockey semifinals.

The quarterfinal matchup at Karen Klassner Field saw Wyoming Seminary spread the offense across seven different goal scorers. Apollonia Bruno led the way with three goals and an assist. Erin Cavanaugh and Ella Plummer each finished with two goals and an assist. Kenley Berryman added a goal and an assist, and Emma Ey, Faylinn Fernandes and Addison Anderson each scored once.

The Blue Knights also got consistent playmaking from their midfield and backline, as Julia Williams and Ava Sanders each tallied two assists, while Charlotte Fissler and Chloe Fiske each added one.

Freshman goalkeeper Emilee Fiske was not seriously tested but did her part in the cage, turning in a full shutout to close out the win.

Hanover Area was unable to find the back of the cage but battled throughout against a deep and balanced Wyoming Seminary attack. The Hawkeyes credited their goalkeeper for her effort between the pipes, and the team's defensive unit, led by No. 19, No. 23 and No. 24, combined for seven defensive saves on the night.

With the win, Wyoming Seminary moves on in the District 2 Class A playoff bracket as the tournament's top seed, while Hanover Area's season comes to a close following the quarterfinal round.

The lopsided scoreline reflected Wyoming Seminary's depth up front, with the Blue Knights getting production from seven different goal scorers and six different players recording at least one assist. Hanover Area's defense, despite surrendering 11 goals, kept working until the final whistle, generating seven defensive saves as a unit.

Wyoming Seminary will look to carry its offensive momentum into the District 2 Class A semifinals, while Hanover Area's defensive effort in a difficult matchup stood out as a bright spot in a season-ending loss.
