Wyoming Seminary College Prep Blue Knights delivered a true gut-punch in the seventh inning, orchestrating a stunning comeback to secure a 6-3 victory over Holy Redeemer in a District 2 AA Semifinal game on Friday. The action unfolded at Gibby Field, a familiar diamond where countless District 2 baseball memories are forged, and this one will certainly be added to the collection.

The Holy Redeemer Royals, playing on their home turf, jumped out to an early lead in the bottom of the first inning. Dominic Marranca worked a walk to get things going, and the Royals capitalized, scoring a run on a wild pitch. Marranca wasn't done yet, singling down the left field line in the third inning to drive in another run, extending Holy Redeemer’s advantage.

Trailing heading into the top of the seventh, the Blue Knights from Kingston weren't about to pack it in. With an eruption of offense, Wyoming Seminary College Prep flipped the script, plating five crucial runs on just two key hits to seize a 6-3 lead. Freshman Nieko Ravaioli delivered the biggest blow, lacing a double that drove in a critical run and ignited the rally that would turn the game on its head.

Junior Caleb Aponick settled in on the mound for Wyoming Seminary College Prep, showing serious grit as he earned the hard-fought win. Aponick allowed just four hits and one run over his seven innings of work, striking out four and walking one. For Holy Redeemer, Joe Korus was tagged with the loss, surrendering six runs on four hits over one and two-thirds innings. Starting pitcher Cody Quaglia had a gem going for the Royals early on, allowing only one hit and no runs through five strong innings, while striking out five and walking six.

Dominic Marranca led the way for the Holy Redeemer offense, going one for one with an RBI. He also showcased his speed with two stolen bases. Sam Shovlin, Cody Quaglia, and Noah Hummel each chipped in with a hit for the Royals. Defensively, Holy Redeemer played a clean game, turning one double play and committing no errors. Sophomore catcher Blake Dunsmuir was busy behind the plate, handling seven chances without an error.

The Blue Knights' patience at the plate was evident throughout the game, drawing an impressive total of 11 walks. Leo Nockley was a constant threat on the base paths, swiping four bases as part of the team's eight total stolen bases.
