Warriors Explode for 31 Runs in Doubleheader Sweep of Scranton Prep

Delaware Valley’s offense was unstoppable Thursday.

The Warriors piled up 31 runs and 26 hits across two games, sweeping Scranton Prep with dominant 14-4 and 17-2 victories in a statement doubleheader performance.

In game one, Delaware Valley broke things open with a six-run second inning after Isabella Stahlman delivered an RBI single in the first. Hayleigh Buter, Hailey Burakowski, and Gabriela Stahlman all came through with key hits during the early surge.

Samantha Baumann added a three-run homer in the fourth inning, while Emily Sullivan went 3-for-4 to lead the Warriors offensively. Baumann and Burakowski each drove in three runs, and Holly Olcott earned the win in the circle with six strikeouts over five innings.

Scranton Prep was led by Abigail Wilce, who went 2-for-3 at the plate.

The Warriors stayed hot in game two, erupting for 12 runs in the fourth inning on the way to a 17-2 win.

Baumann once again led the offense, driving in six runs on two hits, including a pair of doubles. Buter and Isabella Stahlman each collected three hits, while Gianna Lake added two hits in the victory.

Stahlman earned the win in the circle, allowing just two runs over four innings while striking out four.

Delaware Valley also played clean defensively in the nightcap, finishing without an error as Emma Weimer recorded five chances in the field.

Wilce drove in both runs for Scranton Prep and added a double in game two.

From top to bottom, Delaware Valley showcased its depth and offensive firepower all afternoon, overwhelming Scranton Prep from the opening inning to the final out.
