Valley View, PA – What a barn burner at the diamond! The Valley View Cougars put on an absolute show of resilience and power, defeating the Parkland Trojans 11-7 in a thrilling contest. Parkland scored early, but Valley View quickly established a commanding lead, showcasing dominant hitting to secure a decisive win.

The Trojans certainly made their presence felt early, with Addison Fritzinger smashing a two-run homer to left field in the top of the first, putting Parkland up 2-0. Valley View responded with an explosive six-run bottom of the first, fueled by five crucial hits that completely flipped the script. The biggest shot of the frame came off the bat of Abbi Call, who launched a massive three-run home run to left field, giving Valley View a commanding 6-2 lead and sending the hometown crowd into a frenzy.

The Cougars weren't done applying pressure, ladies and gentlemen! They kept their foot on the gas in the bottom of the second, tacking on five more runs with four more hits. The game then settled into a pitching duel for several innings, with Valley View's Grace Munley putting in a fantastic performance. Grace Munley, who ultimately earned the win, surrendered just four hits and two runs over four and two-thirds innings, striking out six and walking five, showcasing her poise on the mound and keeping the Trojan bats quiet.

But the Trojans refused to go quietly into the night! In the top of the sixth, they scored five runs on three hits. Ami Patel singled home one run, Libby Pinkham ripped a double that brought home two, and Addison Fritzinger followed up with another two-run single, narrowing the gap to 11-7 and injecting late-game drama. Abbi Call came on in relief for Valley View, then Grace Munley returned to close things out, ensuring the Cougars secured the hard-fought victory with an iron will.

Offensively, Valley View showcased a potent lineup, racking up 11 hits. Nevaeh Evans was a force at the plate, leading the Cougars with three hits in four at bats.
