A masterclass in all facets of the game propelled the Valley All-Stars 8-9-10 Minors to a commanding 14-0 victory over the 8-9-10 Back Mt All-Stars on Friday. Under the guidance of manager Jonathan Eboli and assistant coaches Mike Piercy, Mike Fredericks, and Jason Iyoob, the contest featured an absolute clinic from the Valley pitching staff, who combined to throw a flawless no-hitter, while the offense unleashed a 16-hit barrage to keep the pressure on from start to finish.
Valley opened the scoring in the top of the second inning when Emma Fredericks connected on an RBI single to crack the scoreboard. The real defensive and offensive separation, however, materialized in the fourth frame. Valley erupted for eight runs on six hits, thoroughly breaking the game open. The explosive inning was highlighted by a bases-clearing triple from Emma Fredericks, an RBI triple by Tiara Krupovich, and run-scoring singles from Nora Piercy and Ariana Linsinbigler, alongside disciplined, run-scoring walks drawn by Adaline Owens and Mackenzie Thomas.
Back Mt fought hard defensively to stall the momentum, anchoring their efforts around starting pitcher Sylvie B. Sylvie B locked in across four innings of work, battling a relentless batting order to record five strikeouts. On the basepaths, Back Mt demonstrated disciplined plate appearances as both Lily A and Callie N showed great patience to draw walks against elite pitching.
Valley refused to slow down, putting the finishing touches on the victory with a five-run surge on seven hits in the top of the sixth. Ariana Linsinbigler drove home two runs with a sharp single, while Aubrey Altier, Brielle Addison, and Grace Eboli each followed suit with RBI singles of their own to extend the lead to 14-0. In total, Valley maximized their opportunities on the paths, capitalizing on their baserunning speed to rack up eight stolen bases during the contest.
The story of the night remained the impenetrable pitching tandem for Valley. Nora Piercy set a fierce tone from the start, throwing three perfect innings without yielding a single hit or walk, while striking out eight. Grace Eboli took over the rubber in the fourth, preserving the no-hitter through three frames of relief, striking out eight more batters and overcoming two walks. Grace Eboli closed out the game in style, striking out Callie N for the final out to secure the historic combined no-hit shutout.
