Valley All Stars - 8-9-10 Minors turned in a complete team performance Wednesday night, riding a two-pitcher shutout and a balanced attack to a 7-0 win over Old Forge LL Minors All-Stars. The game wrapped up in six innings, with Valley never needing to bat in the bottom of the sixth after a three-run cushion built earlier made the extra at-bat unnecessary.
Pitching sets the tone
Nora Piercy started strong, working three scoreless innings and striking out eight of the nine batters she faced while walking two. Grace Eboli came on in relief and was even more dominant, needing just three innings to strike out nine and closing the door by punching out Liza P for the final out of the game. Between them, Valley's pitching staff allowed just a single hit across six innings.
Olivia S took the ball for Old Forge and worked four innings, striking out five while Valley's lineup pushed across four runs. Vada M came on in relief for the fifth, adding a strikeout of her own as Valley tacked on three more.
Valley builds the lead early

Valley added the final two runs in the fifth on the strength of some heads-up baserunning, rounding out the scoring.
