Wow, what a game, fam! The Tunkhannock Tigers absolutely crushed it on Friday, snagging an epic 18-0 shutout victory over the Wyoming Valley West Spartans. It was a total masterclass, showing off some seriously good team synergy and individual brilliance. Leading the charge for the Tigers was freshman sensation Michaela Howell, who was an RBI machine, driving in five runs with a couple of clutch hits. She kicked things off right away in the first inning with a two-run single, then kept the momentum rolling with a two RBI triple in the second, and capped off her incredible day with a sacrifice fly in the fourth for her fifth run batted in. Talk about making an impact!

The Tigers got on the scoreboard super fast in the first inning. Michaela Howell's perfectly timed single brought home two runs, and then Kianna Hannon drew a walk that added another tally, putting Tunkhannock ahead 3-0 right out of the gate.

In the second inning, Tunkhannock kept that scoreboard flashing. Michaela Howell ripped a triple, Kayden Bamberger got a run in with a ground out, and then Kianna Hannon singled, extending the Tigers' lead even more.

The third inning was another big one for the Tigers, as they tacked on four more runs. These runs came pouring in after an error in the field allowed a runner to score, and another run crossed the plate following a second error. It just goes to show how relentless Tunkhannock's offense was!

The fourth inning saw a massive scoring explosion for Tunkhannock, with them rallying for seven runs on four hits. Taryn Newswanger blasted a triple that brought home two runs, Michaela Howell picked up another RBI with a sacrifice fly, an error allowed yet another run to score, Veronica Franko singled to drive in one, Sarah Van Ness connected for a double for an RBI, and Lucy Karp finished off the scoring with a double that also brought home a run. Just pure fireworks!

Michaela Howell grabbed the win on the mound for the Tigers, and honestly, her performance was lights out. She pitched four no-hit, no-run innings, absolutely baffling Spartan batters with nine strikeouts and not walking a single soul.

Tunkhannock's plate patience was obvious as they collectively drew nine walks during the game. The team also showed off their wheels, stealing six bases, with Alli Kinney and Addisyn Waterman each swiping multiple bags. Defensively, the Tigers played a flawless game with no errors. Catcher MaKenzie Bevan was a brick wall behind the plate, handling all nine chances without a hitch.
