Well, folks, grab your popcorn because we had a real barn burner on the diamond today as the North Pocono Trojans squeezed out a 3-2 victory over the Scranton Knights. This one came right down to the wire, a classic Monday afternoon slugfest that kept everyone on the edge of their seats.

The action kicked off with North Pocono putting up a couple of runs in the bottom of the second, setting an early tone. However, the Knights weren't about to roll over. Scranton managed to scratch across a run in the top of the second, thanks to some smart base running by Erick Guerrero and a timely RBI single from Cayden Booth, making it a tight game from the jump

Scranton's starting pitcher, John Montoro, put in a solid effort, navigating through six innings, surrendering three hits and three runs, but only two of them earned. He kept the Knights in it, giving his team a chance to rally. Connor Thomas also chipped in with a double for Scranton, showing some pop at the plate. Brady Donahue added a hit and scored a run in the seventh, as the Knights tried to mount a comeback. Adrian Hernandez drew a walk and added a stolen base, keeping the pressure on North Pocono's defense.

For North Pocono, Brayden VonAhnen was absolutely stellar on the mound, tossing five strong innings, giving up just two hits and an unearned run while striking out four Scranton batters. He also came up big at the plate, lacing a crucial two-run double that proved to be the difference-maker. Dylan Hunter added a double of his own, while Justin Pomales got on base and scored a key run for the Trojans. Mikey Hatala closed out the game on the mound, pitching two innings and allowing one run, securing the hard-fought win.

It was a back-and-forth affair, but North Pocono managed to hold on for the narrow win, leaving Scranton just a run short. A tough loss for the Knights, but plenty of grit shown by both squads.

Player of the Game: Brayden VonAhnen

Our Player of the Game for this nail-biter has to go to North Pocono's Brayden VonAhnen. Not only did he dominate on the mound with five innings of two-hit, zero earned run baseball and four strikeouts, but he also provided the biggest offensive punch of the day with a clutch two-run double. When you contribute that significantly with both your arm and your bat in a one-run game, you've definitely earned that Player of the Game title.
