Holy Redeemer clinched a dramatic 1-0 victory over Berwick on Monday in a softball showdown dominated by stellar pitching performances. Ava Thomas delivered a complete game shutout for Holy Redeemer, baffling Berwick batters through seven frames.

Thomas, with a stalwart effort, permitted only two hits while issuing two walks and striking out two. Her counterpart on the mound, Berwick's Makayla Brown, was equally impressive despite taking the loss. Brown pitched a full seven innings, surrendering just one run on four hits, walking four, and fanning four Holy Redeemer hitters.

The game's lone decisive moment unfolded in the top of the fourth inning. Hailey Pius stepped to the plate and blasted a triple, driving in Sierra Rosengrant, who was running for Katie Genovese, to put Holy Redeemer on the scoreboard.

Holy Redeemer showcased a clean defensive effort, committing no errors throughout the contest. Covington Lehman led the defensive charge, making nine crucial plays at shortstop.
