Sophomore Trey Newton and senior Tyler Lombardo led the Warriors with 28 and 18 points respectively.
North Pocono’s Cole West added 21 points for the Trojans with nine field goals and one three pointer.
North Pocono started the game with fierce momentum in the first half. They commanded the paint and locked down Delaware Valley’s signature explosive presence on the floor. North Pocono’s persistence affected Delaware Valley’s morale and stamina, leading to key offensive and defensive rebounds, fast breaks, and ultimately the lead going into halftime at 17 16.
The Warriors came out of halftime with a fire lit under them. They repeatedly worked North Pocono’s defense, playing smart and waiting for a mistake to capitalize on before attacking the basket. They slowed the pace of play, limiting North Pocono’s chances of quick rebounds and fast breaks. Lombardo came alive in the second half, scoring 14 of his points and going eight for nine at the free throw line.
North Pocono held the reins in the first half but could not match Delaware Valley’s late and unrelenting resurgence.
