Valley View stayed perfect Saturday afternoon with a strong second half push, pulling away from North Pocono for a 57 to 49 Division I victory in Archbald.
The Cougars trailed 25 to 20 at halftime before flipping the tempo after the break. Senior Noah Symuleski delivered when it mattered most, scoring nine of his 18 points in the second half to steady Valley View and spark the comeback. Symuleski also knocked down five three point shots, stretching the floor and forcing defensive adjustments.
Cash Roe provided a big lift in the third quarter, scoring six of his 11 points as Valley View trimmed the deficit to a single point and took control of the momentum. Michael Muto closed the door in the fourth quarter, pouring in 11 of his 16 points over the final eight minutes while connecting on four three pointers in the game. Valley View outscored North Pocono 21 to 12 in the fourth quarter and finished with ten made three point shots as a team.
North Pocono was led by Cole West, who scored a team high 15 points after a fast start that included nine points in the opening quarter. Noah DeSantis added nine points, while Connor Ruddy and Evan Wolff each chipped in six. The Trojans kept the game tight early but struggled to match Valley View’s perimeter shooting down the stretch.
Valley View improved to 10 and 0 overall and 2 and 0 in league play with the win, continuing an impressive early season run built on balanced scoring and late game execution. North Pocono fell to 3 and 7 overall and 0 and 2 in Division I play but showed stretches of solid offense and defensive pressure against one of the district’s top teams.
