Fans were treated to a classic pitchers duel on Wednesday evening, as both the Carbino Club All Stars 12U and Mountain Top 11/12 squads showcased outstanding work in the circle. Ultimately, Carbino Club All Stars 12U managed to manufacture just enough offense to secure a hard fought 2 to 0 victory over Mountain Top.

The scoring started early for Carbino in the bottom of the first inning. After Lizzie DeRiancho reached on an error by Mountain Tops defense, Elizabeth Troy was able to cross the plate to put her team on the board. The game remained tightly contested, with Mountain Tops pitching keeping the Carbino bats largely in check.

In the bottom of the fourth, Carbino added an insurance run. Elizabeth Troy came through with a clutch RBI single on a pop fly, driving in Victoria Brown to extend the lead to 2 to 0.

Pitching was the undisputed story of the night. Elizabeth Troy earned the win for Carbino, delivering a brilliant performance. She tossed five and two thirds innings of shutout ball, allowing just four hits while striking out four batters and issuing zero walks. Her command and efficiency kept the Mountain Top offense off balance all game.

On the other side, Mountain Tops Emily Wenner took a tough loss despite a dominant showing in the circle. The right hander pitched five complete innings, allowing only three hits and two runs, with just one of them being earned. Emily Wenner was an absolute strikeout machine for Mountain Top, sitting down an impressive 11 Carbino batters while walking three.

Offensively, Mountain Top had opportunities, collecting four hits on the day. Brynley McShea provided the biggest spark with a loud triple in the top of the first inning, while teammates Brielle Dohman, Adalyn Hischak, and Emily Wenner each singled.

For Carbino, Elizabeth Troy led the way at the plate, going 1 for 2 with the teams lone RBI. Alana Lopuhovsky and Sophia Thomas also added hits to help the winning effort, with Alana Lopuhovsky wreaking havoc on the basepaths by stealing two bases. Defensively, Carbino was flawless, committing zero errors behind their pitcher, anchored by Natalie Paciotti who flawlessly handled five chances in the field.

Carbino Moves on and will play Friday.
