Scranton Prep delivered an offensive masterclass yesterday, overpowering Tunkhannock with a decisive 25-4 victory. From the opening whistle, Prep showcased a relentless attack, with multiple players contributing to a high-flying scoreline that Tunkhannock simply couldn't match.
The Prep offense was a whirlwind of precision passing and sharp shooting. Braedon McPartland led the charge with an outstanding nine points, netting four goals and dishing out five assists, orchestrating much of Prep's scoring. Owen McPartland wasn't far behind, dominating with five goals and two assists of his own. Max McGrath added a solid four points with two goals and two assists, demonstrating a keen eye for both scoring and setting up teammates. Collin McMullen, Mackie Lynott, Brian James, Sam Cordero, and Tate Cullen each chipped in with a goal and an assist, showcasing the depth of Prep's attack. Robert Hogan, Henry Barrett, Will Kane, Andrew Dempsey, and Shamus Cadden also found the back of the net, ensuring a wide distribution of goals. The Tunkhannock defense, despite the best efforts of goalkeeper Jayden Thompson who made ten saves, was simply overwhelmed by the sheer volume and accuracy of Prep's shots.
On the other side, Tunkhannock fought valiantly to create opportunities. Elijah Faux was responsible for half of his team's scoring, finding the goal twice. Aiden Powers and Mason Berkheimer each added a goal, providing glimpses of Tunkhannock's potential. However, the offensive output wasn't enough to stem the tide against Prep's formidable attack. In goal, Tunkhannock's Jayden Thompson faced a barrage of shots, making double-digit saves that, while impressive, couldn't stop the Prep juggernaut. Prep's goalkeepers, Packy James and Jimmy Black, combined for four saves, facing significantly less pressure thanks to their team's dominant possession and offensive control.
Braedon McPartland earns Player of the Game honors for his incredible all-around performance. His nine points, including four goals and five assists, were instrumental in driving Scranton Prep's high-powered offense. He consistently made smart plays, both creating scoring chances for himself and setting up his teammates, leaving Tunkhannock struggling to contain his impact.
