Pittston Area Overpowers West Scranton in Gritty Straight-Set Sweep

Pittston Area earned a 3-0 victory over West Scranton in girls volleyball on August 31 at Pittston Area High School.
Pittston Area took the opening set 25-16 before securing tight wins in the next two sets by scores of 26-24 and 28-26.
Sydney Christmas paced the service game with 13 service points, adding eight assists, three aces, and two kills for Pittston Area. Helen Fuentes recorded 12 service points, 11 digs, five kills, three aces, one block, and one assist. Isabella Roman registered eight kills, seven digs, two assists, and one ace. Gianna Martinelli finished with eight assists, six service points, two kills, and two aces, while Mia Adelstein contributed six kills and two assists. Brenna O'Malley added 12 digs defensively.
West Scranton was led by Hannah Miller, who totaled seven kills, six aces, and one dig. Aubrey Kerrigan contributed five digs, three aces, and two kills. Violetta O'Hora recorded 10 assists, two aces, and two digs.
