DUNMORE — The Lady Bucks wasted absolutely no time hitting playoff gear.

Dunmore exploded for eight first-inning runs, added seven more in the second, and coasted to a 15-0 District 2 Class 2A opening-round victory over Mountain View Tuesday behind a dominant perfect-game performance from Paige Ancherani.

Ancherani was in complete control inside the circle, retiring all nine batters she faced while striking out eight over three innings. Mountain View never reached base as the Lady Bucks quickly put the game out of reach.

At the plate, Ava Walsh couldn’t miss, finishing a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBIs. Peyton Ancherani collected three hits of her own, while Aubrey Mizenko and Emily McGowan each drove in three runs.

Dunmore’s opening inning turned into an avalanche. Rachel Walsh and Ava Walsh each drove in runs before Mizenko delivered a two-run single and McGowan followed with a two-run double.

The second inning brought more of the same. Kylie Farr, Nancy Mecca, Peyton Ancherani and Paige Ancherani each added RBI hits as the Lady Bucks kept the pressure on.

Dunmore finished with 13 hits, played error-free defensively, and now shifts focus to Thursday, where the No. 2 seed will meet defending District 2 Class 2A champion Holy Redeemer in what should be one of the marquee matchups of the next round in Thursday weather permitting.
