The first annual Peace, Love and Inclusion Game delivered a powerful message on Monday night as the Forest City Lady Foresters and the Chargerettes came together for a rivalry matchup focused on unity, inclusion, and community support.
With a packed gym and strong energy from both sides, the night highlighted how athletics can bring people together for a greater cause. Proceeds from T shirt fundraisers in both districts will benefit special education departments, keeping the focus on students and families well beyond the final score.

Forest City controlled the game from the opening tip, setting the pace offensively while applying steady pressure on defense. The Lady Foresters built separation early and continued to extend their lead through all four quarters.
Kayla Pecko led Forest City with 16 points, connecting on four three pointers and providing a consistent scoring presence throughout the night. Mehlayia St. Hilaire added 11 points, contributing on both ends of the floor and helping anchor the Lady Foresters defensively.
Carbondale Area was led by Maureen Newcomb, who finished with five points, while Alexis Nykaza added three points, including a three pointer, as the Chargerettes continued to compete despite facing a tough Forest City defense.

More than the numbers, the night stood as a reminder of what high school sports can represent. The Peace, Love and Inclusion Game successfully brought together athletes, families, and students while supporting a cause that reaches far beyond the court.
