OLD FORGE, PA — Old Forge picked up a hard-fought Division II victory Thursday night, edging Lakeland 54–51 behind a standout all-around performance from senior center Logan Fanning.
Fanning led the Blue Devils with 18 points, 12 rebounds, and three blocks, anchoring both ends of the floor as Old Forge improved to 12-5 overall and 7-3 in conference play.
The game remained tight throughout, with Lakeland jumping out to a 15-8 lead after the first quarter. Old Forge responded in the second frame, trimming the deficit and heading into halftime trailing just 27-19.
The Blue Devils came out strong after the break, using defensive pressure and inside scoring to outscore Lakeland 21-12 in the third quarter, swinging momentum in their favor and taking a narrow lead into the final period. Old Forge held on down the stretch, matching Lakeland point-for-point in the fourth to secure the three-point win.
Cameron Parker added 15 points for Old Forge, including three three-pointers, while Ryan DeMarco chipped in 12 points, going a perfect 8-for-10 from the free throw line to help seal the victory late.
Lakeland was led by Chase Rosenkrans, who poured in 17 points, while David Naniewicz added 14 points and Jake McHale contributed 10 points in the loss. The Chiefs dropped to 7-10 overall and 2-7 in conference play.
Both teams finished with six three-pointers, but Old Forge made the difference at the foul line, converting 12 free throws compared to Lakeland’s seven, providing the edge in the tightly contested matchup.
Old Forge will look to build on the momentum as the Blue Devils continue their push toward the postseason.
