Northwest Area maintained its dominant season with a decisive 7-1 victory over Southern Columbia Area on Monday, extending their winning streak to 16 consecutive games. The Rangers have consistently showcased their offensive power this season, with this being their 13th win by more than five runs.
Pitcher Natalia Ninotti was a dual threat for Northwest Area. On the mound, Ninotti delivered a career-high performance, striking out ten batters over seven innings while allowing only one earned run on four hits. At the plate, she contributed a home run, going 1-for-3. Jenna Robaczewski also had a strong outing offensively, going 2-for-3 with a home run and two runs scored. Ashlyn Hermanofski was impactful, collecting two hits in four at-bats, driving in two runs, scoring once, and stealing a base.
This win brings Northwest Area's record to an unblemished 16-0. Southern Columbia Area, conversely, faced its fifth consecutive loss, moving their season record to 4-11.
Southern Columbia Area will look to rebound on Tuesday when they travel to face Central Columbia at 4:30 p.m. The Tigers' hitters will be challenged by Central Columbia's pitching, which has an average of just 2.8 runs allowed per game this season.
