NEPA Elite Volleyball Club Sending Three Teams to Nationals, Showcasing the Best of Northeast Pennsylvania

SHAVERTOWN — What began as a vision to provide high-level volleyball opportunities for local athletes has grown into one of the premier volleyball programs in Northeast Pennsylvania.

This summer, NEPA Elite Volleyball Club will send three teams to national championship events, giving dozens of local athletes the opportunity to compete against some of the best volleyball players in the country. While the national appearances are impressive, those within the program say the real story is about the athletes, families, and communities that have helped build something special.

Based out of The Rock Rec Center in Shavertown, NEPA Elite brings together players from approximately 28 school districts throughout Northeast Pennsylvania. Athletes from Dallas, Wyoming Valley West, Crestwood, North Pocono, Mid Valley, Hazleton Area, Pocono Mountain West, MMI, Shamokin Area, Towamda, Wyasuimg, Blue Mountain, Pittson and many other local schools train and compete together under one banner.

The club's 17U Storm team will travel to Chicago this week to compete at the JVA Asics Junior National Championships. The team has enjoyed an outstanding season, earning championships and top-three finishes throughout the year while often competing against older and more experienced teams. The roster is made up of athletes ranging from 15U to 17U, proving that hard work, dedication, and teamwork can overcome any challenge.

Later this month, the 14U Blizzard and 14U Riptide teams will head to Orlando, Florida, to compete at the AAU Junior National Championships, one of the largest youth sporting events in the country. The 14U Blizzard recently captured the AAU Northeast Championship, while the 14U Riptide earned a fifth-place finish against elite competition. Both teams have accumulated multiple championships and podium finishes throughout the season.

While trophies, medals, and championships are exciting accomplishments, coaches within the program say those achievements are simply the result of something much deeper.

What sets NEPA Elite apart is the culture that has been built throughout the club. Players are taught that success is measured not only by wins and losses, but also by leadership, sportsmanship, accountability, and supporting one another. Athletes from rival school districts become teammates. Families from different communities become friends. Coaches work together to create an environment where every player can grow both on and off the court.

The club prides itself on providing opportunities for athletes of all skill levels while maintaining a family atmosphere. Many players begin their volleyball journey with little experience and develop into confident athletes capable of competing on the national stage. The focus remains on development, hard work, and creating opportunities that help athletes reach their goals.

For many of these players, the road to nationals has included countless hours of practice, long weekends traveling to tournaments, early mornings, late nights, and sacrifices made by both athletes and parents. The success enjoyed by NEPA Elite is a direct reflection of the commitment shown by everyone involved.

As the teams prepare to represent Northeast Pennsylvania on the national stage, they will carry more than just the NEPA Elite name across their jerseys. They will represent their hometowns, their schools, their families, and an entire region that continues to produce talented student-athletes.

For the coaches, parents, and supporters of NEPA Elite Volleyball Club, the greatest accomplishment is not the banners hanging in the gym or the trophies sitting on a shelf. It is watching young athletes grow into confident leaders, build lifelong friendships, and prove that Northeast Pennsylvania can compete with anyone in the country.

This summer, three NEPA Elite teams will have that opportunity as they take the national stage and proudly represent Northeast Pennsylvania volleyball.
