It’s hard to believe we already reached Week 3 of the high school football season. The contenders are beginning to establish themselves with Dunmore, North Pocono, Dallas and Lakeland standing out. Abington Heights and Scranton Prep bounced back after one-score losses in Week 1. Several teams are trying to prove they are better than their 0-2 record.

Week 2 was much better for the predictions. The Thursday slate presented some challenges, but a strong Friday made for a strong week. Time to find out how Week 3 will shake out.

About Nate

Nate Johns is a 2024 Dallas High School graduate and a junior at Penn State, where he majors in Broadcast Journalism with a minor in Sports Studies.

Johns is a high-energy play-by-play broadcaster for Sportzwire and also contributes as a sideline reporter and interviewer. At Penn State, he serves as CommRadio Sports Director and a Men’s Basketball Insider while also broadcasting for Big Ten+ and covering Penn State men’s hockey for Penn State Sports Night. He added professional newsroom experience during the summer of 2026 as an intern with 28/22 News.

A District 2 native, Johns is continuing to develop his craft across broadcasting, reporting and interviewing with the goal of becoming a play-by-play broadcaster for football and basketball.
