MOUNTAIN TOP TO THE MAIN STAGE: MADISON GEIGER MAKES HISTORY

MOUNTAIN TOP TO THE MAIN STAGE: MADISON GEIGER MAKES HISTORY

By: Brad Loff | SportzWire | April 14, 2026

Mountain Top, Pennsylvania, has long been a sanctuary for elite field hockey. The legacy of Crestwood High School is built on decades of dominance, legendary coaching by figures like Elvetta Gemski, and standard-bearers like Olympian Diane Madl. Yet, for all its storied history, the program had never reached one specific national milestone.

That changes this July!

On Friday, July 10, 2026, Madison Geiger will take the turf at The Proving Grounds in Conshohocken as the first Crestwood player ever selected for the Longstreth Senior All-American Game. In a sport that has rapidly adopted the professionalized scouting models of high school football and basketball, Geiger’s inclusion in this elite group of 44 athletes marks the dawn of a new era for local sports.

Geiger will not be the only local athlete representing the region on the national stage. She will be joined on the Team North roster by another local talent, Wyoming Area High School standout Lucia Campenni, a Temple University commitment and WVC All Star.

THE UNDER ARMOUR OF THE TURF

The Longstreth Senior All-American Game is the definitive stage for prep field hockey. Much like the Under Armour All-America Game serves as a final litmus test for top-tier football recruits, this exhibition brings together the absolute zenith of high school talent. The selection process, managed by Max Field Hockey, is grueling and data-heavy.

For goalkeepers, the gate is even narrower. Out of every senior netminder in the country, only four were chosen to anchor the North and South rosters. Geiger is one of those four.

IN HER OWN WORDS

For Geiger, the selection is less about the spotlight and more about the years of quiet effort that led to this moment.

"I’m incredibly honored and proud to be named to the Senior All-American Team," Geiger said. "This recognition means so much to me, especially knowing how much hard work, dedication, and passion it has taken over the years to reach this point. From early mornings to long practices and everything in between, every moment has helped shape me into the player and person I am today."

That development didn't happen in a vacuum. Geiger was quick to credit the support system that fueled her ascent from the youth ranks to national prominence.

"I’m beyond grateful for my parents, who have supported me every step of the way and made countless sacrifices to help me pursue my dreams," she continued. "I also want to thank my coaches at Electric Surge, Crestwood and Emily Snowden for pushing me to be my best and believing in me, even on the toughest days. And of course, my teammates - none of this would be possible without you. Your support, energy, and friendship have meant everything to me."

A PARENTAL PERSPECTIVE

For the people who have been in the car for every pre-dawn drive to tournaments and every long weekend on the road, the news of the selection brought the journey into sharp focus.

"When we found out she was selected for the Longstreth All-American Game, we realized how much has gone into getting here - the drives, the early mornings, the long weekends," her parents shared. "Seeing it pay off like this is something special. We’re proud of everything she’s earned, and we can’t wait to watch her play Division I field hockey at Hofstra over the next four years."

THE SCIENCE OF THE SAVE

The metrics supporting Geiger’s selection are undeniable. During her 2025 campaign, she maintained a staggering 91 percent save percentage. Facing high-velocity drag flicks and chaotic penalty corners, she allowed only 9 goals on 102 shots faced, recording 15 shutouts along the way.

This technical dominance is augmented by a unique tactical advantage: her twin sister, Alex. The duo creates a synchronized spine for the Crestwood defense. While Madison directs the shell from the cage, Alex organizes the midfield pressure. It is a level of telepathic communication that Hofstra University is eager to import next season.

BEYOND THE GAME: THE LACEUP SEMINAR

The event on July 10 is designed as more than a mere exhibition. The athletes will participate in the LaceUP Leadership Seminar, an intensive program focused on the psychological and professional transition to the collegiate level.

Led by icons like former Syracuse head coach Ange Bradley and sports psychologist Dr. Andrea Wieland, the seminar equips these seniors with the tools to handle the pressures of Division I athletics. For Geiger, the opportunity to engage with current USWNT goalkeeper Kealsie Reeb offers a rare chance to absorb advanced positional philosophy before stepping onto a college campus.

THE NORTH VS. SOUTH RIVALRY

The 44 players will be divided into North and South squads. Team North, led by coaches Nicole Huston and Katie Grant, features a strong contingent of Pennsylvania talent looking to avenge a 5-3 loss from the inaugural 2025 game.

When Geiger steps into the cage for the North, she will be facing an attacking line composed of future stars committed to programs like Northwestern, Duke, and North Carolina. It is the ultimate stress test.

Madison Geiger is no longer just a local standout. On July 10, she becomes a symbol of the uncompromising excellence that defines the modern Crestwood legacy.
