The opening round of the 2026 Pennsylvania Little League Majors State Tournament provided fans with an unforgettable pitching showcase that culminated in a thrilling final-inning comeback. In a contest defined by flawless defense and dominant play on the mound, the East Side Little League 12U All Stars edged out the Hollidaysburg 12U Navy 2026 squad for a 2 to 1 victory on Monday.

Hollidaysburg wasted no time asserting themselves against a tough East Side pitching rotation. In the bottom of the first inning, Blake Chamberlain sparked the offense by lacing a line-drive single into center field. Moments later, starting pitcher Aiden Anderson helped his own cause, driving a hard ground ball into left field for an RBI single that brought Chamberlain home. That early sequence gave Hollidaysburg a 1 to 0 lead, establishing a narrow margin they would successfully defend for almost the entire game.

Anderson was nothing short of spectacular on the hill for Hollidaysburg. The right-hander controlled the tempo and the strike zone, pitching five and one-third innings while allowing just two runs on four hits. He kept the East Side lineup guessing all morning, racking up nine strikeouts without issuing a single walk.

On the opposite side of the diamond, East Side deployed a brilliant pitching tandem to keep the game within reach. Cole Warner took the starting assignment, navigating three innings while surrendering just the one early run on two hits. Warner struck out five batters and issued one walk before handing the ball over to the bullpen. Ryan Donnelly entered in relief and completely shut down the Hollidaysburg bats, throwing three scoreless innings. Donnelly allowed just three hits and struck out six, refusing to issue a walk and keeping the momentum neutral.

Defense was a major storyline for both squads, as neither team committed a single error in the field. East Side catcher Colton DiGrazio anchored his defense with 12 total chances, while Hollidaysburg catcher Ronan Diehl managed 11 flawless plays behind the plate.

The game remained locked at 1 to 0 until the dramatic top of the sixth inning. With their backs against the wall, East Side finally found the offensive spark they desperately needed. Jack Cassidy reached base safely, turning the lineup over to Darren Molineux. Facing a crucial at-bat, Molineux attacked the very first pitch he saw, launching a massive two-run home run over the center field fence. Ronan Diehl singled on a ground ball, and Aiden Pavlik added a hard-hit single to center field, putting the tying and winning runs on base. However, Donnelly dialed in under pressure, recording a final swinging strikeout to end the game and secure East Side's hard-fought victory.
