Holy Redeemer delivered one of the biggest upsets of the PIAA Class 3A Girls Basketball State Tournament Tuesday night, knocking off powerhouse Imhotep Charter, 67–62, in the second round.

Facing the No. 3 team in the state, the Lady Royals showed poise from start to finish. Redeemer jumped out early, building a 22–13 lead after the first quarter behind strong offensive execution and relentless energy on both ends of the floor.

Imhotep slowly chipped away in the middle quarters, cutting into the deficit and setting up a tense fourth quarter. But Redeemer refused to fold. The Lady Royals scored 23 points in the final frame to hold off the Panthers’ late push and secure the five-point victory.

Senior forward Isabella Boylan led the way with a dominant performance, pouring in 22 points to pace the Royals. Mckenzie Chimock added 16 points, while Kira Millard contributed 14 points in a balanced offensive effort. Tessa Cegelka also chipped in 11 points as Redeemer placed four players in double figures.

The Royals’ fast start proved critical, as their first-quarter surge forced Imhotep to play from behind for most of the night. Despite a 28-point fourth quarter from the Panthers, Redeemer maintained composure down the stretch to close out the win.

With the victory, Holy Redeemer advances to the PIAA Class 3A quarterfinals, where the Lady Royals will face Schuylkill Haven, which defeated Pequea Valley earlier in the night.

For Redeemer, the win marks a statement performance on the state stage and keeps their postseason run alive as the Royals continue their pursuit of a state championship.
