Lady Rangers Dominate Warrior Run in Home Field Hockey Victory

NORTHWEST — The Northwest Lady Rangers controlled the field from start to finish Saturday, Sept. 12, earning a convincing victory over Warrior Run in a dominant home performance.

Northwest dictated play for much of the contest, consistently applying pressure in the offensive end. The Lady Rangers generated seven penalty corners and 10 shots on goal, keeping the Warrior Run defense under pressure throughout the afternoon.

The Rangers broke through in the second quarter when Abby Zagata found the back of the cage at the 11:02 mark, with Ali Miner providing the assist.

Miner added a goal of her own just 1:36 later, scoring at 9:26 off an assist from Miya Dutzar to extend Northwest's advantage.

Zagata struck again before halftime, scoring an unassisted goal with 1:51 remaining in the second quarter as the Rangers continued to build momentum.

Northwest carried that momentum into the third quarter. Miner scored her second goal of the game at 11:44, assisted by Zagata, giving the Rangers another offensive highlight.

The Lady Rangers continued to pressure Warrior Run and added one more goal when Alyssa Best scored an unassisted goal at 3:06 in the third quarter.

With five goals finding the cage, Northwest's balanced attack and relentless pressure proved too much for Warrior Run. Zagata and Miner each finished with two goals, while Best added one.

The victory showcased the Lady Rangers' ability to generate offensive opportunities while maintaining control of the game, with Northwest's seven penalty corners and 10 shots on goal reflecting its strong offensive presence.
