The stage was set at Freedom High School for the Colonial League girls championship, powered by a tremendous partner in Lehigh Valley Health Network, whose continued investment in local athletics helps elevate nights like this across the region.

And Lehighton made sure this one would be remembered.

The Lady Indians (20-2) jumped out early, controlled tempo, and never let Notre Dame Green Pond (19-3) find rhythm in a 44-26 championship victory, securing the program’s first Colonial League title.

It started with poise and purpose.

Brielle Parlimen came out aggressive, scoring 10 of her game-high 18 points in the first half, attacking gaps and finishing through contact. Leah Uvyari followed suit, pouring in 8 of her 13 before the break as Lehighton built a 25-16 halftime advantage.

And from there? Defense turned the screws.

The second half belonged entirely to the Lady Indians. Rotations were sharp. Passing lanes disappeared. Notre Dame Green Pond, the defending champs, struggled to generate clean looks, and what had been competitive early slowly tilted into full Lehighton control.

The Crusaders were paced by Brianna Beani with 7 points and Ava Shonk with 5, but the offensive flow never materialized the way it had all season.

Lehighton’s energy, composure, and defensive discipline carried the night and with it, a long-awaited championship moment.

First title.

Program history.

Mission accomplished.
