The LTSD Varsity Softball team is gearing up for an exciting season, backed by strong individual performances and a commitment to improving both power and efficiency at the plate. Players have already shown impressive offensive production, highlighted by a team batting average of .400, an on-base percentage of .557, and a slugging percentage of .800. These numbers reflect a lineup that consistently gets on base and delivers extra-base hits, setting the tone for a competitive and high-scoring offense. Besides the strong team stats, the lancers are coming off an exciting season! Last year they were able to bring home a district championship, and make it to states! Unfortunately, they were eliminated in the first round by Kutztown. They are looking forward to this season, and hopefully being able to bring home another district championship!
Standout contributors like Kinsie Phillips and Shyla Fulp, continue to play key roles in the team’s success. Their consistent hitting, ability to drive in runs, and overall efficiency at the plate demonstrate the depth and strength of the roster. Additionally, players like Easton Waller bring versatility and impact across multiple areas of the game, from clutch hitting to strong defensive play and pitching contributions. With a combination of power hitters and disciplined at-bats, the team shows balance and the ability to capitalize in key moments.
As the season approaches under new coaching of Casey Waller, one of the leaders on the team, Easton Waller says that “the focus remains on building team chemistry, sharpening skills, and competing at a high level every game. We want to improve our record from last year and win back to back district championships.” Under the leadership of Casey Waller, and team leaders Easton Waller, Kinsie Phillips, and the seniors on the team, alongside the returning talent, emerging players, and a determined mindset, LTSD Varsity Softball is prepared to take on tough competition and continue improving throughout the season. The team is excited to represent their school and looks forward to making this season one to remember.
