Holy Redeemer set the tone early and never let it slip Friday night, pulling away for a 44 to 31 boys basketball victory over Wyoming Seminary at Holy Redeemer High School. The Royals led after every quarter and closed strong in the fourth to seal the win.
Holy Redeemer jumped out to a four point edge after one and carried a 20 to 13 lead into halftime behind balanced scoring and disciplined defense. Wyoming Seminary made a push in the third, trimming the margin to seven, but the Royals answered with their best quarter of the night in the final eight minutes.
Kyaire McLean delivered a game high 15 points, consistently finding space and converting in key moments. Quron Drayton and Jack Wasiakowski each added six points, while the Royals spread the scoring load to keep pressure on the Seminary defense. Holy Redeemer finished with 16 field goals and knocked down eight free throws to maintain control late.
Wyoming Seminary was led by R J Gernhardt with 19 points, including three from beyond the arc. Lucas Latorre chipped in 10, but the Blue Knights were held to just five points in the fourth quarter as Holy Redeemer tightened defensively.
