Holy Redeemer delivered a complete team performance Friday night, pulling away in the middle quarters to defeat Lake-Lehman 61–44 in the District 2 Class 3A semifinals and punch their ticket to the championship game.
After a competitive opening quarter, the Royals seized control in the second period, outscoring Lake-Lehman 22–5 to shift momentum and build a lead they would not relinquish. Redeemer continued to apply pressure in the third quarter, extending the advantage with strong defensive play and balanced scoring.
McKenzie Chimock and Isabella Boylan led the Royals with 13 points each, while Kearney Quinn added eight points. Gillian Parsons and Kira Millard chipped in seven apiece as Holy Redeemer showcased depth and offensive balance throughout the lineup.
Lake-Lehman was led by Kinley Purdy’s game-high 17 points, with Kathryn Morgan adding 14, but the Lady Knights struggled to overcome Redeemer’s decisive second-quarter run.
With the victory, Holy Redeemer advances to the District 2 Class 3A championship game, where they will face Dunmore in a highly anticipated rematch. The matchup carries added intrigue as Dunmore defeated the Royals in last year’s district championship, setting the stage for a redemption opportunity on the biggest stage.
