SCRANTON — Zya Small is taking her game to the Big 12.
The Scranton native and nationally ranked Class of 2027 prospect has committed to West Virginia, continuing a basketball journey that began locally at Scranton High School.
Small played her freshman season with the Lady Knights before transferring to Friends’ Central School in Wynnewood, where she has continued to emerge as one of the country’s notable prospects in her class. Friends’ Central previously highlighted Small among its nationally recognized Class of 2027 players.
Now, the four-star forward will take the next step of her career with the Mountaineers and head coach Mark Kellogg.
For Northeastern Pennsylvania basketball fans, it’s another hometown name to follow on the national stage…Scranton to Morgantown.
