Five-Run Inning Propels Mid Valley Past Wayne Highlands

Mid Valley Girls LL- Majors secured a 10-3 victory over Wayne Highlands U12 All Stars on Thursday, fueled by a powerful offensive outing and strong relief pitching. The game saw both teams trading blows early before Mid Valley pulled ahead decisively.

Wayne Highlands got on the scoreboard first in the top of the first inning, taking advantage of two errors to score an early run. Mid Valley quickly responded in the bottom of the first. Abby K doubled down the left field line, bringing in a run. Grace C then singled to center field, and Emma T followed with a single to left field, each driving in a run, giving Mid Valley a 3-1 lead.

In the top of the second, Wayne Highlands rallied to tie the game when Ruby B scored after tagging up, making it 3-3. However, Mid Valley unleashed a dominant offensive display in the bottom of the second, scoring five runs on five hits to break the tie and establish an 8-3 lead. A key moment in the inning was a single by Sabrina K that drove in two runs, significantly expanding Mid Valley's advantage.

Abby K entered the game in relief for Mid Valley and delivered a strong performance on the mound. She pitched three and two-thirds innings, not allowing any runs and collecting seven strikeouts. Maria T started the game for Mid Valley, pitching two and one-third innings, allowing two hits and three runs, with only one earned run, while striking out four. For Wayne Highlands, Ruby B started on the mound, pitching five innings and recording two strikeouts.

Mid Valley finished the game with 12 hits as a team. Nina D and Sabrina K each contributed with two runs batted in, leading the team offensively. Maria T also had an excellent day at the plate, collecting two hits in two at bats, while Grace C demonstrated her speed with two stolen bases.

Wayne Highlands offense was led by Rachel D, who recorded two hits and scored two runs. Addy F contributed with one run batted in. Emily A showed patience at the plate, drawing two walks, contributing to the team's total of six walks for the game.
