MILTON, PA – January 3rd 2026
The Central Columbia Blue Jays defeated the Milton Black Panthers tonight (Jan 3rd 2026), on the road to advance to 5-4 on the season. Finley Huber missed some time with an ankle sprain, and made his return this evening, scoring 20 points and setting the tone for a desperate offense.
Brief Recap –
Finley Huber made all the difference in Central Columbia’s win. His ability to score the basketball, get boards, and play solid defense gave Central Columbia a major edge over the Black Panthers. Nolan Beagle contributed with his scoring as well, dishing out 13 points. Milton’s sloppy play went on for too long and they didn’t begin making a comeback until it was too late. Both teams were loose with the ball, but Central Columbia was certainly more controlled.

IN DEPTH RECAP
Q1 –
Central Columbia took an early first quarter lead and never looked back, allowing them to secure their fifth win of the season. Christian Nowak got things started for the Jays with a bucket. Nolan Beagle hit a three-pointer and Finley Huber pitched in seven total points, including a tone-setting and-1 layup. JaCori Brown and Jake Harris provided the only points for Milton during the first quarter, leading to a nine-point disadvantage (13-4 Central Columbia)
Q2 –
Between both teams, only nine points were scored during the second quarter. Central Columbia scored six, and Milton scored three. Two-thirds of Central’s points came from Finley Huber, and the other third was from Max Roesch. Milton’s Kamryn Wilson pitched in two points, and Schuyler Humphrey scored one at the line (19-7 Central Columbia).
Q3 –
Central Columbia’s highest scoring quarter was the third thanks to Christian Nowak, Nolan Beagle, and Finley Huber. The three of them combined for all fourteen points. Huber remained steady in the rebounding game as well. Milton scored nine points in the quarter, most of the them coming from Luis Santos. Santos carried his scoring into the fourth quarter as well, where he contributed five (33-16 Central Columbia).
Q4 –
After trailing by 20 with roughly six minutes to go in the fourth quarter, Milton went on an 12-0 run to cut that lead to eight (38-30). As time dwindled away, Milton began fouling which gave numerous Blue Jays opportunities at the free throw line. Nolan Beagle, Max Roesch, Finley Huber, and Jacob Beagle all contributed in the scoring column with converted foul shots. Without clock on Milton’s side, they had nearly no chance to make a comeback, forming a 46-31 defeat.
