Elk Lake Varsity Warriors secured a nail-biting 4-3 victory over the Towanda Varsity Black Knights in a fiercely contested baseball matchup. What began as a back-and-forth affair in the early innings quickly escalated into a tense battle, with Elk Lake capitalizing on key opportunities and Towanda staging a spirited comeback that ultimately fell just short.

The Warriors drew first blood in the opening frame, demonstrating patience at the plate. Matt Parr led off with a walk, followed by a Cohen Orlandini single. An error by Towanda shortstop Boom Thompson loaded the bases, allowing Alden Felker to reach. Brayden Miller then drew a walk, sending Matt Parr home for the first run. However, the Black Knights were quick to respond. Boom Thompson's walk and subsequent advance to third on a ground out paved the way for him to score on a ground ball by Lucas Vincent, leveling the score at 1-1.

The game remained tight until the fourth inning when Elk Lake broke the deadlock with a three-run explosion. Isaiah Strohl ignited the offense with a double, followed by a walk to Matt Parr. Cohen Orlandini singled to load the bases, and Alden Felker then walked, bringing in Isaiah Strohl for the go-ahead run. Brayden Miller delivered a clutch two-run single to center field, scoring Cohen Orlandini and Matt Parr, extending Elk Lake's lead to 4-1.

Towanda refused to back down, mounting a significant rally in the sixth inning to pull within one. Lucas Vincent started the frame with a walk, and after a strikeout, Gage Evans hit a line drive single to left field, scoring Lucas Vincent. A wild pitch advanced Gage Evans to third, and Hudson Stevens drew a walk. Avery Butts then grounded out, allowing Gage Evans to cross the plate, making it a 4-3 game. However, Elk Lake's pitching held firm, with Nathaniel Thurman closing out the inning.

Nathaniel Thurman, in relief of starter Stephen Newhart, faced a determined Towanda lineup in the bottom of the seventh. He struck out Sammy Fulmer, and Boom Thompson flew out to center. With two outs, Brad Assante struck out looking, sealing the one-run victory for the Elk Lake Varsity Warriors. Stephen Newhart was impressive for Elk Lake, pitching five strong innings, allowing just one hit and one unearned run while striking out nine. For Towanda, Lucas Vincent provided solid relief pitching, tossing 2.2 scoreless innings and fanning five.
