DALLAS TWP. — Dallas continued its perfect start to the 2026 season Friday night, using dominant special teams, a suffocating defense and a balanced offensive attack to cruise past Hazleton Area, 56-0.
The Mountaineers wasted little time taking control, and special teams played a major role in setting the tone. Dallas pressured the Hazleton Area punt unit throughout the opening quarter, recording two blocked punts while another was negated by a penalty. Hunter Pitcavage opened the scoring with a 4-yard touchdown run after Dallas tackled the Cougars’ punter at the 15-yard line. Trevor Slavinski then made it 14-0 when he blocked a punt and returned it 15 yards for a touchdown.
Dallas broke the game open in the second quarter. Marc Saracinaj scored from three yards out before quarterback Talan Geskey connected with Owen Oldt for a 7-yard touchdown and Tyce Mason for another score from 13 yards out. Mason then provided one of the biggest plays of the night, returning a punt 55 yards for a touchdown and sending Dallas into halftime with a commanding 42-0 advantage.
The Mountaineers continued to add to the lead after halftime. Saracinaj broke free for a 21-yard touchdown early in the third quarter, giving him his second rushing score of the night. Dallas added its final touchdown in the fourth when James Gibbons recovered a fumble in the end zone. Geskey finished 4-of-6 passing for 80 yards and two touchdowns, while Mason led the receiving corps with two catches for 64 yards in addition to his punt-return touchdown.
As impressive as the scoring was, the Dallas defense was just as dominant. The Mountaineers held Hazleton Area to only 14 total yards and recorded five sacks. The Cougars struggled throughout the night with exchanges and snaps, fumbling 12 times and losing two of them as Dallas consistently forced Hazleton Area into difficult situations.
With the victory, Dallas improves to 6-0 and remains unbeaten heading into the second half of the season. The Mountaineers will hit the road next Friday for a matchup with Lake-Lehman, carrying an offense that has now scored at least 35 points in every game this season and a defense coming off another impressive performance.
