Dallas Dominates Wilkes-Barre Area 47–7, Remains Unbeaten

DALLAS, PA — The Dallas Mountaineers continued their impressive start to the 2026 high school football season Friday night, rolling past Wilkes-Barre Area 47–7 to improve to 5–0. Behind an explosive opening kickoff return, a balanced offensive attack and a dominant defensive performance, Dallas established control early and never looked back.
The Mountaineers wasted no time making a statement as Trevor Slavinski returned the opening kickoff 99 yards for a touchdown. Hunter Pitcavage followed with a seven-yard touchdown run, giving Dallas an early 14–0 advantage. Quarterback Talan Geskey connected with Tyce Mason on a 46-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter, while Bobby Gallagher added a five-yard scoring run. Wilkes-Barre Area responded with a spectacular 75-yard touchdown run from Wonder Woods, but Dallas answered with Pitcavage's second touchdown of the evening to take a commanding 34–7 halftime lead.
Dallas showcased its offensive versatility throughout the contest, finishing with 467 total yards, including 282 rushing yards and 185 passing yards. Pitcavage led the ground attack with 98 yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries, while Geskey completed seven of 13 passes for 181 yards and a touchdown. Mason emerged as his primary target, recording four receptions for 91 yards and a score. Mark Saracinaj and Owen Oldt added third-quarter rushing touchdowns to extend the Mountaineers' advantage.
Defensively, Dallas delivered another impressive performance, limiting Wilkes-Barre Area to 246 total yards while forcing two interceptions. Brady McCann intercepted a pass in the end zone to eliminate a potential scoring opportunity, while Gallagher also recorded an interception. The Mountaineers' ability to create turnovers and control the line of scrimmage complemented an offense that consistently generated explosive plays. Despite the lopsided victory, Dallas committed 10 penalties for 79 yards, an area the coaching staff will look to address moving forward.
With the victory, Dallas remains undefeated at 5–0 and continues to build momentum heading into the second half of the regular season. The Mountaineers will look to maintain their winning streak when they host Hazleton Area on Friday, October 2, while Wilkes-Barre Area, now 1–4, will attempt to rebound against North Pocono. As the season progresses, Dallas will look to build on its balanced offensive production, defensive consistency and explosive special teams play.
