Crestwood Stays Perfect With Impressive Road Win Over Oley Valley

OLEY — Crestwood field hockey continued its strong start to the 2026 season Wednesday evening, earning a convincing 4-1 nonconference victory over Oley Valley.

Piper Kleban-Harden led the Crestwood attack with two goals, while Allie Myers and Addy Korpusik each scored once for the Comets.

Crestwood traveled into District 3 and handed the Lynx their first loss of the season in their home opener. Oley Valley’s lone goal was scored by Cassidy Clark, one of the program’s returning all-state selections.

The victory improved Crestwood to 2-0 and completed an impressive opening road swing. The Comets began the season by shutting out Bloomsburg, 7-0, before making the trip to Oley and producing four more goals against the Lynx.

Through two games, Crestwood has outscored its opponents 11-1.

Wednesday’s result was particularly notable because of the opponent. Oley Valley has traditionally been one of the stronger field hockey programs in District 3 and entered the matchup after opening its season with a victory. Crestwood controlled enough of the action to build separation and prevented the Lynx from generating the offensive production needed to mount a comeback.

The Comets’ early performances suggest that the program has successfully reloaded following an outstanding 2025 campaign. Crestwood finished last season 18-3-2, captured the Wyoming Valley Conference Division 1 championship and advanced to the PIAA Class 2A state tournament.

Despite graduating a highly accomplished senior class, head coach Amanda Tredinnick’s team has opened the new season with two decisive victories away from home.

Crestwood will now have several days to prepare for the beginning of conference play. The Comets are scheduled to visit Wyoming Valley West on Wednesday, Sept. 9, before hosting The Hill School on Friday, Sept. 11.

For a team entering the fall with several new players moving into larger roles, an unbeaten start—and a convincing road victory over Oley Valley—represents an encouraging early statement.
